We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.

OUR YMCA: Impacting the community since 1887. The first location of the Plattsburgh YMCA was the top floor of the D&H terminal starting in 1887. The next location of was above Tierney’s Variety Store which burned down in 1902. In 1908, Loyal Smith left the YMCA $35,000 for a new building and $100,000 to keep it running. The new building was built on Oak Street where it stands today. Many changes and additions have been made to the Plattsburgh YMCA, but our rich history is evident throughout our bustling hallways. Our YMCA allocates over $140,000 annually in assistance to our community for those in need of membership or program. We are for all. We are the leading organization for child care and camping service and serve over 8000 people across the North County. Our association includes 3 branches, 6 summer camps, 8 before and after school locations in 5 different districts and separate pre-school child care facility.
